SULPHUR -- Services for Juanita Christine Atchley Shepard, 59, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Central Baptist Church with the Rev. Willard McCartney Jr. officiating. Private family burial will follow.
Born Aug. 3, 1942, in Dougherty to Leroy and Irene Haney Atchley, she died June 10, 2002, at her residence.
Raised in Dougherty, she moved to Texas and married Bobby Shepard on Sept. 15, 1975, in Brownsville. She returned to the Sulphur area in 1978.
Survivors include her husband, of the home; three sons, Ralph Holland, Mangum, Randy and LeRoy Holland, Sulphur; a brother, Jimmy Atchley; two sisters, Joyce Doggett, Ardmore, and Eloice Bumpass, Sulphur; and 10 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Atchley.
Bearers will be Phillip Shepard, Diddle Hale, Ray Brooks, Mike Callis, Douglas Akers and Bobby Brooks. Honorary bearers are Sonny Hale, Joe Bonham, Doris Ann Watson, Maxine Mattingly, Arnold Trett and Eddy Max Mosley.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cross Timbers Hospice.
Cowley-Krien Funeral Home will direct services.
