East Lyme, CT - Lucille Catherine Eckert, of East Lyme, died on May 20, 2003, at her residence.
She was born on Nov. 23, 1905, on Long Island, N.Y.
She was the widow of Joseph Eckert.

Mrs. Eckert was formerly employed by Kodak and she also cleaned houses in Old Lyme and surrounding areas. During World War II, she rolled bandages for the Red Cross. She also took in foster children and tried to give them good homes.

She is survived by her son, Gary Eckert and his wife Judith of Niantic; her foster daughter, Linda Hendricks of
Ariz.; her grandchildren, Jennifer Harris of East Lyme and Michael Eckert of Niantic; her niece Charlotte
Kopecke of Mass., and her nephew Michael Miles of New Jersey.

A calling hour will be held from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the Fulton-Theroux Funeral Home, 13 Beckwith
Lane, Old Lyme, followed by a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in The Church of Christ the King, Lyme Street,
Old Lyme. Burial will be in Duck River Cemetery, Old Lyme.
