The following appeared in the "Stillwater News Press" Sunday, 30 Mar 1947, p.1, col. 8: ANDREW TAYLOR DIES AT 100

"Andrew Taylor, 100, probably the oldest Payne County resident, died at his home 10 miles southwest of Stillwater Saturday morning.
It is believed, too, that he was the last, or among the last, of the Civil War veterans in the county. Funeral Services will be conducted Monday at 2:30 pm at the Strode Funeral Home. Rev. J.F. Wick will officiate. Burial will be in Elm Grove cemetery with the Stillwater American Legion post conducting graveside services.
Friends may call at the funeral home until 10 am Monday.
He was born in Uniontown, KY, Dec. 16, 1846, the son of Andrew and Dorcas Ann Taylor. On Sept. 8, 1867, he was married to Susan Elizabeth Jackson in Missouri. Mrs. Taylor died Oct. 21, 1932. He served 11 months in the Civil War, Co. L, 2nd Missouri artillary.
He and his wife lived in Missouri following their marriage and in 1878, moved to Kansas living near Fall Rivers. In April 1890, they came to Oklahoma and settled on the homestead southwest of Stillwater where he made his home. Taylor was a retired farmer and a member of the United Brethren church.
Survivors are three sons and two daughters: Mrs. Mannie Cheatham, Perkins; Len R. Taylor, Stillwater; Alva, W.T. and Mollie Taylor of the home address. Three children, Mrs. Laura Cook, Art and G.E. Taylor preceded him in death. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchilren."
