Gary Lee Blakely, age 75, of Jacksonville, North Carolina passed away on Monday, July 3, 2023.

Gary was born in Shelby County, Ohio on April 24, 1948 and was the son of the late Harry Bernard Blakely and Alberta Mae Pool Blakely.

He is survived by five step-children, Elaine Brugler and husband Mark of Wapakoneta, Ohio, Mark Hecht of Botkins, Ohio, Matthew Hecht and wife Raquelita of Jacksonville, N.C., Michael Hecht and wife Natalie of Sidney Ohio and Ann Covert and husband Marc of Ridgeway, Ohio; a sister, Rita Brown and husband Richard of Van Wert, Ohio; eight step-grandchildren and five step-great grandchildren.

Gary was preceded in death by his wife Mary Catherine Blakely.

He was a member of the First Church Of Christ in Sidney Ohio. He was a U.S. Army Veteran.

Graveside funeral services will be held Wednesday July 12, 2023 at 11am at the St. John Catholic Cemetery in Fryburg with military rites being performed by the V.F.W. Post 8445.
