Harriet was later baptized on Nov. 21, 1878 at her mother's childhood home church, the St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, in Berrysburg, Dauphin Co., Pa., when Sophia
and her family made a trip back to Pennsylvania for the funeral of Sophia's father, Jonathan E. Koppenheffer. (Her baptism is recorded in the St. John's church records).

Harriet died unmarried, at the age of 22 years, and 3 months, of malaria (typhoid) fever, (which
caused heart failure).

Her whole life was spent at her parents home, one mile West of Hinchman, Berrien Co. Michigan.

At the time of her death, Harriet was Secretary of the Epworth League of the Methodist Church in
Hinchman, Michigan.
