Mrs. Syble Worley Hembree, age 88 of 2754 Anderson Highway in Hartwell, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 6, 2023 at Hartwell Health and Rehab.
She was born on November 12, 1934 in Hart County. She was the daughter of the late A.A. Worley and Pearl Hayes Worley.
She was a member of the Homemakers Sunday School Class of Sardis Baptist Church. She taught the 2, 3, and 4 year old Sunday School Class for 63 years, volunteered during Vacation Bible School for 25 years and had a Training Union Class several years. Mrs. Hembree worked at USDA Service Center in the Natural Resources and Conservation Department as a technician from June 3, 2004 until her retirement. Prior to that she was employed at Newton Mill for 18 years and the Hartwell Company for 13 years.
She is survived by; her nephew, Roger Worley and wife Kellie, a very special brother and sister in law, Aaron and Barbara Worley, niece, Pam W. Bowers and her husband Bob, and her nephew Jeff Worley. Also surviving Mrs. Hembree is her brother in law Pete O'Barr of Maryland. Special nieces and nephews Kierston Baston (Mason), Breanna and Riley Worley, Cory Bowers, Nikki Bowers and son Brett Sprayberry. Several nieces and nephews in various states.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Talmadge Hembree, parents, sisters, Wilma Greenway and Wylene O'Barr and nephew, Gary Worley.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, July 8, 2023 at Two o'clock in the chapel of Coile and Hall Funeral Directors with Rev. Forrest Ferguson officiating. Burial will follow at Nancy Hart Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends on Sunday just prior to the funeral service 1- 2 at the funeral home. Family members will be at their respective homes. Flowers are optional and memorials can be made to the charity of one's choice.
Services have been entrusted to Coile and Hall Funeral Directors, 333 E. Johnson Street in Hartwell.
