He graduated from Vincentian Instiute, received a bachelor's degree from Niagara University, and served in the Navy, before getting married and settling in the Town of Tonawanda.
David worked for the New York State Department of Labor for 42 years before retiring in 1996.
He enjoyed spending time at their summer home in Ballston Lake, N.Y. and visiting Saratoga Race Track. He loved being with family, whether it was sharing a meal together or watching Buffalo Bills football or Yankee baseball on television.
David is survived by his children, Edward (Lori) Delehanty, Anne (Thomas) Phillips, Ellen (Thomas) Schoenfeld, David Delehanty Jr., and Dr. Janice (Brian) Delehanty-Dillon; nine grandchildren, Clare, Austin, Madeline, Brittany, Emma, Kate, Morgan, Sheridan and Alannah.
