Thomas Ray Brazier joined his Lord and Savior on January 21, 1993 at the VA Hospital in Salisbury, NC.

Tom was born in Gatlinburg, Sevier County, Tennessee on July 13, 1935 to William Kenneth Brazier and Elsie McMahan Brazier at the time of his birth.


Tommie as his family called him was married in 1964 in Winston Salem, Forsyth County, NC to Bonnie Sue Brown. He lived for many years up until his passing in Charlotte, NC.


Tom never met a stranger and developed many friends in the Carolina's adding to his being a native Southerner from the neighboring state of Tennessee.


He served in the US Marine Corp, and eventually was on disability as the result of his service to his country.


Tom was someone who was always helpful to those in need. You could find him on many a day being a handyman helping to repair houses, furnishings and cars for those he cared for. He enjoyed his days with his buddy's at his favorite gas station. Tom was a good story teller, keeping anyone fixed to his jokes or stories he would tell.


Tom was preceded in his passing by both his parents. He was survived by his son Ray Whicker of Long Beach, NC. He also had several siblings and nieces and nephews spread across the country.

Tom is a prime example of a friend and family member who died to young. He enjoyed life. He enjoyed and sought to help others. He always found positives in the challenges his life faced. He didn't see his own personal gain as a reason to do for others.


He saw his gain in how God viewed his actions. He lived life with joy and always had a positive outlook on life. You lived your life well Tom. Thank you for all you did for others.

MR. THOMAS RAY Brazier, 57 years young of Charlotte, N.C., died Thursday Jan, 21, 1993, at Veteran's Hospital, Salisbury, N.C.

A native of Gatlinburg, Tn., Mr. Brazier was employed with Stroupe Security. Inc. He also was a veteran having served In the Marine Corps.

He is survived by a son, Mr. Ray Whicker, Long Beach, N.C.: brother, Mr. Charles H. Butler, Arnold, Calif, five sisters, Mrs. Dorthy Bull, Asheville, N.C., Mrs.Margaret Wooten, Trinidad, Texas, Mrs. Patricia Galyon, Roxston, Texas, Mrs.Laura Cordova, Livermore, Calif., and Mrs. Jeanette Hoffman, Stanford, Calif.

Tom's Memorial service is 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 23, 1993, at Little Church on the Lane, Moravian Chapel, Charlotte, N.C.
