Ruby Jewell was the daughter of Asa Jewel(1883-1938) and Emily Fannie (Freeman)(1882-1927) Tatom. She was born and raised in Stamps, Lafayette, Arkansas. She lived there until she met and married John Vernon "Pete" Biggs on July 2, 1936. Her siblings are: Susie Marie (Tatom) Fields, William Earl Tatom, and Iva Lee (Tatom) Eddy. Her brother Capt. William Earl was killed in WWII at Tarawa. He was a Silver Star and Purple Heart recepient. Ruby and Pete had two daughters. They were: Jacquelyn "Jackie" (Biggs) Redding, and Johnilee "Dump" (Biggs) Osborn. Ruby was survived by two daughters, a son-in-law, a granddaughter, her husband, and six g-grandchildren.
