Clara Maria Elisa Beckmann was the daughter of Frederick Herman and Katharine Elizabeth Kleinschmidt Beckmann. She immigrated to the United States with her parents when she was one year old. On February 18, 1892 she married Fredrich Dietrich Wacker in Malcom, Nebraska. This union was blessed with eleven children: Anna Elizabeth, Fredrick, Herman, John, Eleanora, Clara Maria, Anna Katherine, William, Heinrich, Carl and a son who died in infancy. Maria passed away at the age of 74 after a long illness with cancer.
