Glen Riley Harris , Sr.

Glen Riley Harris , Sr., 74, of Fredericksburg, Va., passed away Friday (Feb. 28, 2008) at his residence.

Glen was born June 13, 1933 in Rogersville, Tenn. to the late Samuel C. and Maude Bates Harris . Glen was a veteran of the U.S. Navy during the Korean War, serving as a boiler tender. He was an engineer for Marriott Hotels for 37 years. Glen was an avid fisherman and enjoyed auto racing. He was a kind and loving father, who will be sorely missed by all.

Glen was preceded in death by his brother, Samuel Harris .

Glen is survived by his wife of 49 years, Nancie Harris ; four sons, Glen Harris , Jr., Christian Harris , Jefferey Harris and Samuel Harris ; one daughter, Maude Harris ; 13 grandchildren; one brother, Joe Harris ; and three sisters, Ruth Griswald, Doris Feathers and Ann Harris . He also leaves behind his beloved pets, Barney and Muggsy.

Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. today at Highland Cemetery with Rev. Harold Manis officiating.

Colboch-Price Funeral Home in Rogersville is serving the Harris family.
