Andrew R. "Andy" Yount, 83, died October 11, 1928 in Marion, North Carolina.
He was born in Catawba County, NC on February 27, 1845* and was the son of the late Noah Yount and Mary Mariah Jarrett Yount.
Andrew enlisted, as a Private, in Company E, 6th Infantry Regiment North Carolina, Confederate Army on 18 May 1864. Company E, 6th Infantry Regiment North Carolina surrendered on 9 Apr 1865 at Appomattox Court House, Appomattox County, Virginia.
He married Amanda Morgan October 31, 1866 in McDowell County, North Carolina.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a daughter, Louisa M. Yount.
He was survived by his wife, Amanda "Manda" Morgan Yount; a son John R. Yount; and a daughter, Lettie Yount Bright.
Interment was October 12, 1928 at Chapel Hill Cemetery.
