Daisy Apple Evans, 89, Morehead Nursing Center, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, March 26, 2008, at the nursing home.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 29, at Wilkerson Funeral Home with Pastor Bruce McBride and Pastor Aaron Withrow officiating. Interment will follow in Happy Home Christian Church Cemetery.
Daisy was born in Rockingham County, to the late Ross and Eugenia Nunn Apple. She was a longtime and faithful member of Happy Home Christian Church and was a former member of the Willing Workers Circle. She was also a member of the Happy Home, Home Demonstration Club. Daisy was a tobacco farmer and she loved working in the yard sharing her gift of growing beautiful flowers. She also enjoyed traveling. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend.
Other than her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years, Clarence Evans; her son, Freddy Evans; her sisters, Mabel Underwood, Erma Clark, Effie Weatherford and Hazel Crumpton; and her brother, John Apple.
