Marilynn L. Plese passed away on Thursday, June 29, 2023 in Joliet, IL after a short illness.

Marilynn was a lifelong resident of Joliet and a member of St. Ambrose Church. She graduated from St. Francis Academy in 1950. She retired from the U.S. Army Ammunitions Procurement Center. Marilynn was very active and involved in numerous community organizations. She was a member of the Joliet Women's Club and held many positions. She was also involved in the Joliet Hospitality Club, Red Rovers, Kings Daughters and Sons, Advisory Board at Silver Cross Hospital, Counsel Catholic Women's League at St. Ambrose Church, Illinois Junior Miss Scholarship Program and the Senior Service Center.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, John Plese, parents William Cox and Ann Cox Samion; sister Eileen Plese, nieces Karen and Kathy Plese; brother-in-law Eugene Plese; sister-in-law Phyllis (Bernard) Benco and step father John Samion.

Interment will be held on Tuesday, July 11, 2023 at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery.
