HARDIN . Jerry Lee Edwards, Sr., was a member of Operating Engineers Local No. 400 and had worked at the Absaorka Mine on Sarpy Creek since 1974 until his retirement in 1981 due to ill health. Mr. Edwards, 37, died Friday at his home east of Hardin in the Sarpy area after a long illness. The son of Mr. and Mrs. Ellison "Red" Edwards, he was born and educated in Hardin and worked on a ranch for David Watson. He served in the Army from 1963 to 1965. He returned to Hardin, working for Mr. Watson until 1967. He married Mary Williams Nov. 10, 1968, in Sheridan, Wyo. He worked for Ed and George Miller in the Sarpy Creek area for several years. Survivors include his wife; one son, Jerry Jr. and one daughter, Deon, both of the family home; eight brothers, Don Robinson of Denver, Colo., Eddie Edwards of Wyoming, John Edwards of Big Horn, Bill, George, Tom and Ray Edwards, all of Hardin and Jim Edwards of Sarpy; two' sisters, Mrs. Carol Fox of St. Xavier and Linda Edwards of Hardin and his mother Mrs. Ida Edwards of Hardin. Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday in Bullis Funeral Chapel .with burial and military graveside rites in the Hardin Fairview Cemetery..The Billings Gazette 12-25-1982
