Son of Salmon and Rebecca Billington (Mason) Warner. He was the fifth child of their ten children. He married Phebe Harding in Salt Lake City, Dec. 9, 1865. In 1883 he moved his family to Elba, Idaho where they took up land by "squatters rights". They ran a dairy and made butter and cheese.
In 1890 they moved to Bear where they stopped on their way to Clearwater area to make some money working on the Kleinschmidt Grade. They never left the Bear area. Amos and his sons-in-laws started the first school at Bear. It ran for a term of two months. He and his daughter, Amy, were successful in getting a post office in Bear.
