Billy Gerald Anderson, 89, of Ocala, passed away on Monday, June 26, 2023, at E.W. & Lucille Cates' House Hospice in Ocala, Florida. He was born September 4, 1933, to parents Willie Guy Anderson and Nora Louise (Jordan) Anderson in Wheeler, West Virginia.

He had several occupations during his lifetime including service in the US Army from 1953-1955, where he was stationed in Vienna, Austria, as a military policeman; security at NASA's Kennedy Space Flight Center during the Mercury and Gemini space flight programs and at Goddard Space Flight Center during the Apollo Project; mail carrier in Greenbelt, MD; the Webster County Department of Highways Supervisor, Hacker Valley Volunteer Fire Department's first president, and eventually retired from the US Postal Service in Florida.

Billy was preceded in death by his parents Willie Guy and Nora Louise Anderson, brothers Perry and Forest, and his sister Gloria (Lanton).

Billy is survived by his wife, Pearl (Thomas), his daughter Jennifer and her two daughters Shaylen and Kenzi, all of Ocala, Florida. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Bell Anderson (Chipps) and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at Highland Park Cemetery on Wednesday, July 5th, 2023, beginning at 10 am.

Billy and his wife Pearl are long-time contributors to St Jude's Children's fund. The family suggests that donations may be made in his name to St Jude's Children's Fund at www.stjude.org/give.
