Mrs. Beatrice Laroy Carothers of Orbisonia died at 6:15 p.m. Saturday, September 6, 1958 at the Mercy Hospital, in Pittsburgh, where she had been a patient for the past five and one-half months.

A brother, Gerald D. Piper of 6235 21st Avenue, North, St. Petersburg, Fla., died at the Mount Park Hospital in St. Petersburg on Friday, September 5. Funeral mass for the brother and sister will be celebrated at the same time.

She was born May 6, 1887, in Rockhill Furnace, a daughter of John and Mary (Laird) Piper. She was united in marriage to Ralph J. Carothers of Orbisonia who preceded her in death in April, 1942.

The following children survive: Mrs. Francis (Mary Elizabeth) Hopp of Milwaukee, Wis.; Sister Mary Charlotte of Pittsburgh, and John Joseph Carothers of Pittsburgh. There are six grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Currence Tray and Mrs. DeChauntal Cloyd of Homestead Park and one brother, Chauncey J. Piper of Shade Valley.

The deceased was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church of Shade Valley.

Funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, September 10, at 10 a.m. from the St. Mary's Catholic Church of Shade Valley. The Rev. Rd. Gerard Oeler will officiate. Interment will be made in the adjoining cemetery. Friends may call at the Ott funeral home in Orbisonia from 7 p.m. this evening until the time for the services.
