Funeral services were held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Reins-Sturdivant Chapel by the Rev. Howard Royal and the Rev. Major Caudill. Burial was in Montlawn Memorial Park.
Mrs. Handy was born in Wilkes County, Oct 20, 1905, to John T. and Charity Kilby Absher. She was a member of Dehart Baptist Church.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Clyde (Mary) Smythers of Millers Creek; two sons, Russell Handy of Millers Creek and Shelby Handy of Purlear; one brother, Arthur Absher of Wilkesboro; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
