Surviving are his widow and two sons, Sidney and Leonard of Overton; three sisters, Mrs J M Parnell of Plainview, Mrs C J Thomas of Cross Roads and Mrs John Lehr of Athens; two brothers, J H Davis of Wichita Falls and Quincy Davis of Knox City. Mr Davis was the former Justice of the Peace of the Athens Precinct and a Deputy Sheriff under the late Charley Pharris.

Troup L. Davis, 58, former Justice of the Peace of the Athens precinct and a deputy sheriff under the late Charley Pharris, succumbed at the family home on South Palestine street at 12:20 Tuesday. He had been ill for the past eighteen months following a heart attack and had been confined to his home most of the time since. He contracted uremic poison some three days ago and his condition had been very critical since.
Funeral services were held at 2:30 Wednesday from the Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home on East Tyler street. Services were conducted by Revs. D.R. Cartlidge and M.L. Fuller, with burial following at the Davis cemetery by the side of his mother.
Surviving are his widow and two sons, Sidney and Leonard of Overton; three sisters, Mrs. J.M. Pannell of Plainview, Mrs. C.J. Thomas of Cross Roads and Mrs. John Lehr of Athens; two brothers, J.H. Davis of Wichita Falls and Quincy Davis of Knox City.
Deceased was born in New York community of Henderson county and had lived in the county all his life. He was a member of the Baptist Church.
