Algie Lee Crawley 69, a resident of Barstow for 47 years, died Tuesday, April 29, 2003 at home in Barstow. Algie was born July 26, 1933 in Troy, Ala. He was a mechanic at Barstow Community College for 34 years. He was 32nd degree member of Eastgate Masonic Lodge #45 in Barstow and also a member of Palestine Shrine. He held most positions in both Shriners and Masons. His wise and caring nature made him a much sought after counselor. He was a volunteer with Barstow Youth Accountability Board. He loved playing dominoes, working on cars and attending family gatherings. He managed little league baseball for 15 years and was an umpire for both little and senior leagues for eight years. Survivors include his wife, Linda Crawley of Barstow; daughters, Judy and her husband Tony Wheeler of Troy, Ala., and Jackie and her husband John Banks of Barstow; sons, Sno and his wife Loretta Crawley of Sacramento, Bay and his wife Willie Crawley of Victorville, Ken and his wife Joan of San Jose; parents, Algie L. Crawley Sr. and Versie Crawley of Troy, Ala.; brothers, Willie James Crawley, Samuel and his wife Annie Mae Crawley of Troy, Ala., John David and his wife Earnestine Crawley of San Diego, Randolph Crawley of Troy, Ala., and Jeffery and his wife Sachiko Johnson; sisters, Ann and her husband Michael Henry of Fairfax, Va., Peggy Daniels and Dorotha Stringer of Atlanta, Ga.; step daughter , Tiffany Johnson of St. Paul, Minn.; step-son, Timothy Johnson of Duluth, Minn.; uncle, Ben Frank Reynolds of New Jersey; aunts, Isophene Stewart, Louise Reynolds, Esther McBride and Patsy Reynolds of Alabama; 13 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation will be Sunday, May 4, 2003 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Mead Mortuary Chapel, 36930 Irwin Road. Funeral service will be Monday, May 5, 2003 at 11 a.m. at First Congregational Church, 220 N. Second St.
