George William Stout, 65, Hollenberg, died Saturday, June 24, 2023 at his home.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, June 28, at the Hanover Mortuary in Hanover.

A funeral service will be 10 a.m., Thursday, June 29, at Zion Lutheran Church in Hanover. Rev. Elvin Crosby will officiate.

Pallbearers are Alan Cook, Allan Kruse, Dave Wichman, Tony Mallean, Jim Zarybnicky and Kyle Kruse.

Burial will be in Hanover City Cemetery.

George was born to George A. and Carol (Mallean) Stout on December 25, 1957, in Hanover. In 1975, he graduated from Hanover High School.

George was a farmer and rancher, living on the home place his entire life. For awhile he worked for Petersons Heavy Equipment Company and for the State of Kansas as a bridge and road inspector. He then went back to farming and raising cattle

On September 6, 1980, he was united in marriage to Debra Cook at the Hanover Methodist Church. In his spare time, George enjoyed skeet shooting, hunting, fishing and hanging out with his Nebraska beer buddies. He loved dogs and had many over the years. In fact, he loved dogs more than most people.

Preceding him in death were his parents; daughter, Erin Stout, mother-in-law, LaVonne Cook; and grandparents, Henry and Lucile Mallean.

Survivors include his wife, Debra; father-in-law, Dale Cook, Hanover; sister-in-law, Shelley (Dave) Wichman, Wamego; brother-in-law, Alan (Naldy) Cook, Minneapolis; and cousin, Tony (Laura) Mallean, Manhattan; nieces and nephews and other cousins; and his beloved dogs, Ava, Jasper and Chloe.

In Lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established and will be designated later. Contributions may be sent in care of Hanover Mortuary, Hanover.
