Dovie and Pete (Audrey Cecil) were married for 15 years before they had the one daughter, Dorothy. Dorothy was born 1948 in Bismarck, Burleigh County, North Dakota, where Dovie & Pete had moved to, to work on a sheep ranch. Later on in the 1950s they came to California, where Pete trained and became a carpenter, and though he was good at that trade, farming and ranching was still his preferred occupation. He and a brother-in-law purchased a large acreaged farm in Tipton, CA in the summer of 1952.
Dovie moved back to Modesto, CA which is where most of the Cole family lived, about a year after Pete died. Her parents were getting on in years and she stayed and cared for both until their deaths. Dovie became a member of the Latter Day Saints and it was she that helped me get started with the Cole Family's ancestors.

P.S. July 2015...Dovie has two sisters still living, ages 97 & 95. Dwc~~
