Mrs. Betty Jean Parker, age 77, a resident of Stewart Street in Columbia, passed away Friday, September 3, 2021, at her residence.

A native of Columbia, Betty was born on September 10, 1943, and was the daughter of the late John Robert Allen and the late Nannie Ludie Howard Allen. She was a 1961 graduate of Columbia Central High School and worked many years in accounting at Miller, Stutts, & York, Webster Enterprises, and Gibson Oil. She retired as the bookkeeper from Catamaran Cruisers. She enjoyed cooking and took great pride in gardening, specifically her rose bushes. She was an incredibly strong person, mentally and physically and loved her family, especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband of twenty-five years, Raymond H. Parker of Columbia, sons, Alan (Shelia) Rogers of Columbia, Shane (Emily) Rodgers of Columbia, sister, Cindy Dooley of Summertown, and grandchildren, Kristopher Rodgers and Jacob Rodgers.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Bill Allen and sisters, Georgia Allen and Willie Mae Howell.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, September 10, 2021, at 10:00 AM at Heritage Funeral Home.
