Larry J. Privia, 80 of Ft. Madison passed away on Thursday, June 22, 2023 at 10:59 AM at the Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center in Ft. Madison.

He was born on July 5, 1942 in Niota, IL to Frank and Anna Charles Privia. On October 28, 1967 he married Sherian Pickard in Ft. Madison and she passed away on April 21, 2018. Larry was a technician for MidAmerican Energy and retired after forty one years of service. He served in the US Army during the Cuban Crisis and was a member of Local Union #125. Larry loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was a very loving people person and had the gift to be a friend to everyone he met.

Survivors include one son, Jeffrey (Christine) Privia of Underwood, IA; two daughters, Kimberly (Rob) Richelt of Ft. Madison and Kayla (Brett) Bell of Davenport; five grandchildren, Alicia, Julia, Tyler, Jacob and Rachel; three great grandchildren, Luna, Mason and Mylah; one sister, Lucille Traut of West Point; one brother, Albert Privia of Riverside, CA; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; a daughter, Karla in infancy; three brothers and four sisters.

The funeral service will be held on Monday, June 26, 2023 at 1:30 PM at King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory with Pastor Chad Savage officiating. The family will meet with friends from 12:30 PM until the time of the service at 1:30 PM. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery.
