Former longtime Alaska resident Rita Louise Adams, 77, died Oct. 4 at Mercy Regional Health System in Altoona, Pa. Interment was at St. Joseph Cemetery in Carrolltown, Pa.
Miss Adams was born April 21, 1917, in Johnstown, Pa., to the late Harry and Mary Burley Adams. She worked with the Department of the Army, Alaska District Corps of Engineers, in real estate. She lived in Alaska from 1954 to 1977, when she retired and moved to Pennsylvania. She was a member of St. Therese Catholic Church in Altoona. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Earl and Harry.
She is survived by five sisters, June, Mary Grace, Inez, all of Johnstown, and Jeannine of Haggerstown, Md., and Ada of Anchorage; sisters-in-law, Helen of Johnstown and Florence of Anchorage; and many nieces and nephews. Memorials may be sent to any branch of the American Cancer Society. Arrangements were handled by Stanley J. Krish Funeral in Altoona.
