SAVANNAH - La Count Louis Anderson, Jr., 84, died Monday January 16, 2012 at St. Joseph's Hospital.

He was born in Savannah, Georgia and graduated from Benedictine Military School. He worked for Seaboard Coastline/CSX System for 42 years and after retirement, he continued to work at the Merry Go Round at the Savannah Mall for several years. He attended Calvary Baptist Temple and was active in the television media ministry. In his younger years, he taught RA's at the Savannah Baptist Center.

He is survived by his four children, LaCount L. Anderson, III (Anna), of Scotland Neck, N.C., Glenda A. Benton (Newell) of Guyton, GA., John G. Anderson of Auburn, N.Y. and Timothy S. Anderson (Pamela) of Statesboro, Georgia; brother-in-law, James G. Neville (Linda); 5 grandchildren, Susan B. Shinall (Brian), Mary B. Boothe (Jon), Leah A. Reed (Chad), Timothy S. Anderson and Nevil J. Anderson; 4 great-grandchildren, Ella Grace Boothe, Charlotte Louise Boothe, Harmon Dean Shinall and Garrett Darnell Shinall and a number of nieces and nephews.

Remembrances to be made to the Union Mission of Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina where LaCount's son is Executive Director, or to God's Mission house at First Baptist Church of Springfield.

Visitation: 2-4 pm January 20, 2012, in the Wilder Chapel, at Calvary Baptist Temple.

Memorial Service: 4:00 p.m. Friday, January 20, 2012, in the Wilder Chapel at Calvary Baptist Temple, with Rev. Wayne Watts, Officiating. Fairhaven Funeral Home - Hubert C. Baker Chapel 7415 Hodgson Memorial Dr. Savannah, GA 31406 912-927-1999.
