Michael T. Montooth (Mike) age 72 of Sweetwater passed away Wednesday, June 14, 2023 at UT Medical Center.

Mike was born the son of the late Ted and Evelyn (Kennedy) Montooth. He was a carpenter by trade and one of the best around. He spent countless hours working to provide for his family and was happy to do it. Mike could build anything and didn't need any type of blueprints for it. He loved his family, watching NASCAR, westerns and documentaries. Mike was a lifelong resident of Sweetwater and was of the Christian Faith.

Preceded in death by his son Andrew "the main man" Montooth, wife Annette Montooth and brother Bryan Montooth. Survived by his daughter, Nikki and "favorite son-in-law" Willie Yates, granddaughters Hannah and Laikan Yates all of Harriman. His brother Leslie Montooth of Sweetwater. Also survived by his stepchildren Crystal (Shawn) Freeman and Poo (Deidra) Carpenter, and a host of grand and great grands.

Special friends and pallbearers: Bill Buscher, Wayne Richardson, Gene Hedgecoth, Pat Yates, Baily Russell, and Eli Rutherford.

The family will receive friends Thursday, June 22 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Sweetwater Memory Chapel. Funeral services to follow at 7:00 with Rev. Bill Yates and Rev. Lance England officiating.
Graveside will be Friday, June 23rd at 1 PM, at Sweetwater Memorial Park. Sweetwater Memory Chapel in Sweetwater, TN is serving the Montooth Family.
