SILVER POINT Funeral services for Ramon "Poss" Rose Whitefield, 75, of Silver Point will be held today, Tuesday, March 2, at 2 p.m. at Boma First Church of God. Burial will follow in Palmer Cemetery with full military honors. The body will lie instate at the church today from noon until time of services.
Mr. Whitefield died Sunday, Feb. 29, 2004, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.
Born in DeKalb County on March 13, 1928, he was the son of the late Roosevelt and Myrtle Carter Whitefield.
Mr. Whitefield was retired from the Putnam County Highway Department and was a US Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of Boma First Church of God.
His family includes his wife of 44 years, Delphine Dinco Whitefield of Silver Point; a daughter and soninlaw,
Rebecca and Ken Maynard of Baxter; three sons and daughtersinlaw, Ronald and Barbara Whitefield of Silver Point, Gary and Charlene Whitefield of Alabama and Bryant and Shawna Whitefield of Algood; a brother and sisterinlaw,
Archie and Joanna Whitefield of Baxter; seven grandchildren, Chris, Jeremy, Andrew and Dustin Whitefield, Angie Whitefield Moralee and Cody and Kendra Maynard; and a greatgrandchild, Tristan Whitefield.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his twin brother, Amon Mose Whitefield; his first wife, Jimmie Joyce Maxwell Whitefield; a grandson, Wesley Alan Whitefield; and a niece, Sherry Jean Whitefield.
