Brenda Calicoat was born June 29, 1954 in Amarillo, Texas to Hugh and Elwynna (Smith) Adcock. Where she attended Palo Duro High School. She began to play the organ at 8 years old and played in a local garage band. She moved with the family to Sapulpa Oklahoma for 3 years where she briefly attended Sapulpa High School. She moved to Augusta Kansas where she met Victor Davis. They were later married and moved to Monahans Texas. After getting a divorce, she met and married Richard (Jim) Calicoat.
Brenda moved to Carlsbad with Jim in 1994. Where she opened a dress, doll , and flower shop. She liked to go listen and dance to live music and also sat in playing organ for a few bands who preformed there.
She loved spending time with her family and helping others. Brenda enjoyed her many animals that she has had throughout the years. She was a member of New Song Christian Fellowship. Brenda touched many lives during her life.
Survivors include: Husband of 21 years, Jim Calicoat of Carlsbad; four children: Dennis Wood of Lufkin, Texas. Kelly Calicoat and wife Shelly of Carlsbad, Lauren Cook and husband Lee of Austin, Texas, Michael Calicoat of Lubbock, Texas; five grandchildren; parents Hugh "Bud" and Elwynna Adcock of Augusta, Kan.; two brothers: Craig Adcock of Oklahoma City and Scott Adcock and wife Vicky of Meridian, Miss.; sister Tammie Moss and husband Randy of Andover, Kan.; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
