He worked as a caretaker for the Prouty Estate for over 30 years.
He was a member of the Tahattawan Masonic Lodge of Littleton and a member and Past Patron of the Order of Eastern Star, Ida McKinley Chapter. He was also a member and captain of the Littleton Volunteer Fire Department.
He is survived by two daughters, Dianne Wilkey of Boxborough and Julie Stoddard of West Groton; a brother, Charles W. Hosmer of Oregon; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by a brother, Augustus.
