James "Jim" Harrill Bolt, age 90, of Anderson, SC, passed away Monday, June 12, 2023, at Rainey Hospice House.

Born October 18, 1932, in Anderson, he was the son of the late Claude Todd Bolt and Eunice Cornelia Gilreath Bolt Haynie. He was also preceded in death by his son-in-law, Carlos M. Elkins; brother, Ray Bolt; sister, Brenda B. Atkins; great granddaughter, Addie Bolt.

Jim was a graduate of Belton High School and was retired from Owens Corning Fiberglass. He was a great patriot who loved his country and faithfully served in the Army National Guard for 43 years before retiring. He was a member of the Ruff Masonic Lodge and formerly served on the Board of Directors at Anderson Federal Credit Union. He was an avid traveler and enjoyed cruising and train trips. He also enjoyed farming. He was a member of Mountain Creek Baptist Church where he was formerly a deacon and served for many years as Chairman.

He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Jessie Mae "Jay" Loftis Bolt; children, Gail B. Wentzky (Bob), Deborah B. Elkins, and James Andrew "Andy" Bolt; sister, Joyce Bolt Emory; grandchildren, Rob Wentzky (Tammy), Dori Falin (Charlie), Josh Wentzky (Kerri), Amanda Bolt (Kellie), and Jonathan Bolt (Stephanie) ; great grandchildren, Greyson Swift, Alissa Wentzky, Joshua Richardson, Rhett Wentzky, James Hunter Wentzky, Andy Nelson, Mateo Nelson, Maddox Bolt, Haley Moon, and Hunter Moon; great-great granddaughter, Mary Annabella Hill; and his faithful Black Lab Jess.
