Joyce is survived by her son Todd Crowe of Ider, and daughter Traci Crowe Dunavant (Dana) of Madison. Grandchildren: Jeff Crowe (Jessica), Kristy Jernigan, Kelly Crowe (Rob Inman), Jared Dunavant, Justin Dunavant, and Anna McElrath. Great-grandchildren: Ethan Fitzpatrick and Collin Crowe.
She was born in Lineville, AL to James Dewey and Lula (Holloway) Halpin and was the youngest of their 7 children. Although she worked through the years throughout Dekalb County, she was best known for her work at home. Joyce was very artistically talented and her home was a gallery of oil paintings, cross-stitch, and embroidery. Her home never looked the same from visit to visit because she loved to redecorate. She insisted on feeding anyone who came through her door and would always decorate a cake for special birthdays. Her spare time was filled with quilting, sewing, or planting flowers and vegetables in her garden.
Joyce was preceded in death by her son Tony Crowe, grandson Eric Crowe, great-grandson Conner Crowe, parents JD and Lula Halpin, siblings Louise Canada, Jimmie Dollar, Ollis Halpin, Olen Halpin, Lorene Crye, and Willie Gay Halpin.
