Freda Thompson died peacefully at Trinity Center on Friday, June 9, 2023, in Des Moines, Iowa at age 93.

Freda was born on December 3, 1929, to Ferd and Ethel (Bergstrom) Brunk in Atlantic, Iowa. Freda graduated from Colfax High School in 1947.

She married Harold "Sonny" L. Thompson on December 7, 1947 at The United Methodist church in Colfax, and enjoyed 64 years of marriage together, raising three children.

Freda worked for Electrolux Corporation for over 30 years and became their first woman Division Manager.

Freda was passionate about ballroom dancing, square dancing, and doing the jitter bug.

She was a member of the women's bridge club and enjoyed golfing after her retirement.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Ferd & Ethel, and husband Harold, and 4 brothers.

A memorial service will be 11:00am, Thursday, June 15, 2023, at the Colfax United Methodist Church, 7 South Locust Street, Colfax, Iowa 50054. Interment at Colfax Cemetery will follow services with family returning to the church for a reception lunch.
