Miss Ethel Wight was called to Portland by the death of Mrs. Helena Hodsdon. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Hay and Peabody Funeral Home, Congress Street.

Mrs. Helena C. M. Hodsdon, 74, of 217 Stevens Ave., wife of Herbert S. Hodsdon, died Saturday in a local hospital. She was born in Boston, Jan. 25, 1891, daughter of Almon and Susan Curtis Morris. She attended schools there and at Concord, N.H. Mrs. Hodsdon first came to Portland in 1912, later moving to Concord where she lived from 1918 to 1925. She was a graduate of St. Barnabas Hospital, class of 1918, and received her RN from New York University. She returned here in 1925 and practiced nursing at the York Hospital, York. She also attended the Portland School of Fine and Applied Art. She was a member of the Hayloft Society, the Matin Water Color Society, the Old Orchard Beach Art Association and the Alumni Association of the Portland School of Fine and Applied Art. Mrs. Hodsdon attended the Woodfords Congregational Church. Surviving, besides her husband, are a daughter, Mrs. Helena S. Bracken of Portland, and two grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at 749 Congress St. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
