Pearl Thurston Obituary (published by The Olympian on Oct. 7, 2012)

Pearl left this world of pain and joined our Lord at home with her daughter and son-in-law by her side. She was born Feb. 3, 1920 to Leonard and May Lockhardt in Tono, WA. She is preceded in death by 2 husbands, Bill Bowles and Charles Thurston and her only son, Kenneth Bowles. Pearl is survived by her daughter, Annette Stancil, Yelm; daughter-in-law, Peggy Bowles, Olympia; step-son, Charles Thurston, MO; 4 grandchildren, Michael Jon Graeber, Rainier; Kendra Jennings, Olympia; Mark Bowles, NV; and Randy Bowles, Seattle; 6 great grandchildren, and a favorite niece and nephew.

Pearl loved flowers and spent her last days "smelling the roses." She will always be remembered for her smile and kindness to others. When you think of her, remember the wonderful times with her and do not be sad. A graveside service will be held at Mills & Mills Memorial Park on Oct. 9, 2012 at 11 a.m. A celebration of Pearl's life will be held immediately after the service at the Bowles home.
