Meri Lisa Bacon, 58, passed away at home on June 4, 2023. Lisa was born in Columbia, SC on October 2, 1964. She was the daughter of the late Sara Jo Hughes Bacon and George M. Bacon.

During Lisa's illness, her faith and trust in God never wavered and only grew stronger.

She is survived by her brother, Steve Bacon (Diane) of Santa Rosa Beach, Fla., sister, Phyllis B. Fuqua (Scott) of Edisto Island, SC, sister, Sue B. Turner of Columbus, Ga., nephew, Christopher Anthony Bacon and great-nephew, Danny Anthony Bacon, both of Rock Hill, many nieces, nephews and beloved dog, Zoey.

She is predeceased by her brother, Phillip Anthony Bacon.

Lisa's childhood friend, Tammie Calcutt, and lifelong friend, Keith Warrington, were by her side throughout her illness. The care, support and love they gave Lisa were boundless.

Lisa graduated from Richland Northeast High School and Midlands Technical College with an Associate Degree in Nursing. She was a registered nurse for over 30 years and a passionate animal lover.

Family and friends would like to thank Heart of Hospice for the outstanding loving care and compassion they provided to Lisa, her family and friends.

Lisa requested no funeral services. Interment will be private.

Donations in her memory may be made to any No Kill Animal Shelter.
