From the Clinton Eye-Tuesday, March 8, 1960...Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Hannah Brooks, 92, Brownington, who died at 9:25 a.m., Feb. 26, at Wetzel Hospital where she had been since the previous Saturday, were conducted at 2:00 p.m., Feb. 28, at Cedar Grove Church near Warsaw by the Rev. Emmett O. Farier. Burial was in National Cemetery there, under the directions of Sickman and Dunning Funeral Home. Grandsons were pallbearers. Mary Hannah Hart, born May 11, 1867 at Lincoln, Nebraska, was the daughter of John J. and Alverdia McKenzie Hart. When 11 years old she moved to Benton County near Warsaw with her parents. In the mid 1880's she married Frank Brooks who died Feb. 3, 1940. Six children were born to this union, two dying in infancy. Survivors are twin daughters, Mrs. A. C. (Phobe) Bost, Stoneyford, Calfornia, Mrs. Elmer (Sarah) Burnham, Los Angeles, California; two sons, Gedney Brooks, Brownington, Frank Brooks, Kansas City; 20 grandchildren; a number of great-grandchildren; two brothers, Sam Hart, Sedalia, Moneth Hart, Locksburg, Arkansas; many other relatives and friends. She was a member of the William Rogers Baptist Church, LosAngeles, transferring there from the Cedar Grove Church. She had resided the last 16 years in California spending time with each daughter and had returned to Brownington last Nov. 1. After two days she entered Forrest Nursing Home due to Illness.
