Funeral services for Mrs. Geo. S. Acers were held in the Shelly funeral home Saturday afternoon at two o'clock, with the Rev. Thos. P. Shaffer, pastor of the Methodist church, in charge. Burial was made in Oakland cemetery. Her death occurred at her home in North Manchester on Wednesday, Feb. 14, 1941, after a long illness.
Miss Minnie Zimmerman, daughter of the late Josiah and Elizabeth Zimmerman, was born in the state of Pennsylvania, on Sept 12th, 1860, and as a young girl she came with her father's family west and located in the state of Nebraska. Her father was a German Lutheran Minister.
She was united in marriage with Geo. S. Acers at Dakota City, Nebr. on Sept 12, 1880, and for a few years they made their home in Nebraska City. Fifty-one years ago she and her family came to Manchester, and this place has been her home since.
Mrs. Acers is survived by one son, Henry A. Acers, of this city; one grandson, Henry Acers jr.; a brother Moss Zimmerman, of Omaha, Nebr. and one sister, Mrs. Ella Bryant, of Long Beach, Calif. Mr. Acers died here in 1924.
Mrs. Acers was always greatly interested in her home and the members of her household. She was interested in the work of the North Manchester Ladies' Aid society, and St. Paul's church.
Many friends in Manchester extend sincere sympathy to the son, the brother and sister in their sorrow.
