ack W. Ingram, 91, of Westby and formerly of West Salem and La Crosse, died Thursday, Oct. 2, 2008, at Norseland Nursing Home, Westby.

He was born Jan. 5, 1917, in Townsend, Wis., to Abraham and Florence (Hamm) Ingram. On June 27, 1939, he married Eleanor Schneider at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Milwaukee, and she preceded him in death on March 20, 1972. Together they raised nine children, Michael, Margaret, Thomas, Patrick, Jacqueline, Jo, Kristine, Loretta and Judy. He farmed for many years near Harrisville, Wis., and later worked for Webster Lumber Co. for 20 years. On May 26, 1973, he married Grace Campbell at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Onalaska, and she preceded him in death on June 28, 2000.

Jack loved his flower and vegetable gardens and was known for growing giant tomatoes. In his spare time, he enjoyed woodworking, making cabinets, hutches, cribs, cradles, barns, animals and flowers.

In addition to his children, he is survived by four step-children, Tom, Pam, Sandy and Elaine; many grandchildren; great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; special friends, Betty and Frank; and his cat, Boots.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his two wives; a son, Patrick; a daughter, Loretta; six sisters; and five brothers.

In accordance to his wishes, he will be cremated, and no services are planned at this time. Burial of his cremated remains will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, La Crosse. Woodruff-Jandt Funeral Home, La Crosse, is assisting the family with arrangements.
