David Frank Lindemann, age 71, of Lexington, Texas, went to be with our Lord on Thursday, October 20, 2022, after his hard-fought battle with Alzheimer's.
David was born on November 30, 1950, in Giddings, Texas to Robert Eldor Lindemann and Annie May (Wusterhausen) Lindemann. He was their fourth child.
David graduated from Lexington High School in 1969. He was a member of the FFA and participated in football, basketball and track. David then attended Blinn in Brenham, Texas.
On October 5, 1972, David married his true love, Patricia Dianne Karl. David and Dianne celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in Round Rock, Texas with family and close friends several weeks ago.
They had two children, Heather Renee and Justin David. David was a devoted dad, involved in 4-H, coached their teams and attended every event they participated in.
David's love for building and construction started in his teen years and he made a lifetime career in this industry. Hard work and integrity were ingrained in his outlook on life from an early age. He used his gift of building oftentimes to bless others. His quality of workmanship can still be seen to this day. Some of David and Dianne's most special times together were spent working side by side, long hours into the night, restoring properties.
David was a member of the Knobbs Springs Baptist Church where he put his faith in Christ. He used his God-given talents to work alongside the Texas Baptist Builders at the Knobbs and gave his time and talents on many other projects community wide.
David was an avid hunter and loved being outdoors. Dianne's most treasured memories were sitting with him in deer stands in South Texas, videoing wildlife and listening to his hunting stories. David was also a talented sketch artist and enjoyed drawing caricatures and wildlife images for his family. David was full of wit and was a fun-loving prankster. He made us all laugh with his endearing funny faces. David's personality and mutual love of the outdoors created many lifelong friends. As he became Papa, his most favorite pastime was spent loving on his grandchildren. He took them fishing, hunting and drove them around the pasture putting out deer corn and checking on the cows. Even though his disease was progressing, it gave him great joy to see his babies participate in their many activities and celebrate their accomplishments.
David was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Annie May Lindemann, his brother, R.C. Lindemann, and his sisters, Ruby Neitsch and Mary Ann Trauernicht.
David is survived by his wife, Dianne and his children, Heather and Mike Knipstein of Round Rock and Justin and Melissa Lindemann of Lexington. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Ava, Baelyn and Hope Knipstein and Rachael, Logan and Parker Lindemann.
Our precious Husband, Daddy, Papa and Friend will be greatly missed. Cherished memories will sustain us until we meet again in Glory.
