Mr John W Bowman, 69, of Springfield died at 7:25 a.m. Thursday at St. John's Hospital North.
Born on June 12, 1918, in Silom Springs, Mr. Bowman was the son of Walter E. and Ora McDowell Bowman. He was a retired machinist from Napier's Machine Shop. He was a veteran of World War II. Surviving are his wife, Connie; one son, Robert J.; one daughter, Debbie of Memphis, Tenn.; and two sisters, Esther Hurst of Memphis, Tenn., and Orsa Phillips of Burlington, Iowa.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home, with the Rev. Victor Kaltenbach officiating. Burial will be in Camp Butler National Cemetery.
