Lorine was born on July 2, 1927 and passed away on June 9, 2017 in Colorado Springs, Colorado at the age of 89. She was born in Wichita Falls, Texas to Cecil A. and Virginia Mae (Ward) Knight.

She graduated from San Jacinto High School in Texas in 1945 and then attended business school. Lorine married William Edward Whitten, Sr on December 30, 1956 in Las Cruces, New Mexico. In 1966, Lorine and Ed moved to Broomfield, Colorado where they resided until 1970 when they moved to Peyton, Colorado. They have been in Peyton ever since and Lorine stayed in Peyton even after Ed's passing in 2005.

Lorine was an avid sports fan of the Denver Broncos, the Air Force Academy and the Colorado Rockies. She also enjoyed gardening, being outdoors, fishing, camping, cooking and golf. She will be remembered for her artistic talents including oil painting, ceramics, and for her cooking.

Lorine is survived by her nephews, Robert Frizzell of San Marcos, Texas and Bradley (Elaina) Frizzell of Tennessee; a niece, Elizabeth Frizzell of Houston, Texas; and her cousins, Larry G. (Ruthanna) of Denton, Texas, Richard L. (Linda Nell) Ward of Jolly, Texas, Linda Jean (Arlie) Stogner of Wichita Falls, Texas, Dr. Deanna Ward Plain, M.D. (Colin). of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Eric J. (Sandy) Ward of Monument, Colorado, and Cory (Sarah) Ward of Denton, Texas; along with numerous other cousins.

There will be a visitation on Saturday, June 17, 2017 at 10am with a funeral service at 11 a.m. at Cappadona Funeral Home located at 1020 E. Fillmore Street in Colorado Springs. Burial will follow the funeral at Peyton Cemetery. The family wants to thank Always There Home Care, Pikes Peak Hospice And Palliative Care, and Mount Saint Francis Nursing Care Center. Angels and Saints all rolled into one!
