KNOX - Mrs. Alberta Summerville, 71, of Knox, wife of Howard Summerville and a telephone operator in the Knox area for many years, died at 6:50 a.m. Wednesday in Oil City Hospital.

She was born July 6,1900, In Clarion County, a daughter of Alvin and Kizzie Neil Fleming, and had been a lifelong resident of the area. She was first married in 1920 to Lee Bittenbender. She later married Edward Bauer in about 1928. He died in 1951. In 1960, she and Howard Summerville were married. He survives.

Mrs. Summerville was a member of the Edenburg Presbyterian Church in Knox, the Women's Association and the Ruth Circle of the church, the Senior Civic Club and the Clarion County Democratic Women's Club.
One infant son is deceased.

Removal was made to the Roy P. Stuart Funeral Home in Knox, where friends may call any time after 2 p.m. today and where funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday. Rev. Thomas E. Prosser, pastor of the Edenburg Presbyterian Church, will officiate. Interment will be In the Knox Union Cemetery.
