"Helen Claire Manes, 59, northeast area of Kansas City, died April 20, 1987, at Lakeside Hospital. She was a lifelong area resident. Mrs. Manes was a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Survivors include her husband, Earl D. Manes of the home; three sons, Alan Lewis of Gladstone, John Lewis and James Manes of Kansas City; five daughters, Phyllis Tracy, Michele Harris and Jennie Manes of the home, Elizabeth Lewis of Kansas City and Christy Grado of Independence; her mother, Mona Ropp of Kansas City, Kan.; two sisters, Lucille Gay of Kansas City, Kan., and Ruth McCullough of Paola, Kan.; and 13 grandchildren.
