Mr. Copeman, 64, of Rochester, died Friday (March 21, 2008) at his home, of a cardiac condition.
Robert Dale Copeman was born Oct. 11, 1943, in Cresco, Iowa. He was raised on the family farm near Cherry Grove, and graduated from Wykoff High School. He worked for Marigold Dairy in Rochester and then for Boise Cascade Paper Mill while living in International Falls, Minn., for seven years. He returned to Rochester and worked in camper sales, for Viking Vending Services, and as a facilities engineer for the Rochester school district. On Feb. 5, 1977, he married Sharon K. Tesmer in Rochester. He was a member of the Rochester Elks Club and was very involved with the club's relocation to the Hillcrest Mall and its youth programs. He enjoyed woodworking, golf, stock cars, snowmobiling, and spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Steve (VerLynne) of Spring Valley and Dale (Tammy) of Mound, Minn.; seven grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and three sisters, Anita (Gilbert) Fjelstad of Stewartville, and Meriel Copeman and Meredith Copeman both of Rochester.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Ranfranz & Vine Funeral Homes, with an Elks Rest Service at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue an hour before the service Wednesday at the funeral home.
