Jane Elizabeth Hall, a lifelong resident of Bethel, CT passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on May 20, 2023 at the age of 89.

She was born on April 15, 1934 in Stamford, CT to the late John Joseph Hynes and Jane Ormond Hynes.

Jane was a graduate of Sacred Heart Academy in Stamford, CT. While raising an active family of six children, she also dedicated over 50 years to Bethel's elderly and those in need. She served as Executive Director of Reynolds Ridge Senior Housing for 40 years from its inception in 1972, until her retirement in 2012. Last year, the Jane Hall Community Center was dedicated in her honor. In addition, she was the Executive Director of Augustana Homes Senior housing complex for over 20 years. Jane also served as a founding member of FISH, Friends in Service to Humanity. Furthermore, she was a Registrar of Voters and the recording secretary to various local Boards & Commissions for many years. Going forward, as a tribute to her dedicated service and devotion to improving resident lives, the Town of Bethel has proclaimed July 6th as Jane Hall Day.

Jane's countless family gatherings in Bethel fostered fond memories for all her family and her highly sought after homemade meatballs and brownies will be sorely missed. Her loving personality shone through in her delight and sincere pleasure displayed while spending time with her exuberant family.

Jane is predeceased by her husband, Marcel Leo Hall, her brother John and her three sisters, Sister Regina Hynes CSJ, Rosemary (Hynes) Finn and Patricia Hynes Delyonas. She is survived by her six children: Greg (Mary Ellen) Hall of Cary, IL; Mark (Carmen) Hall of Woodbridge, CT; Thomas (Jackie McGrath Hardy) Hall of Windsor, CT; John (Julie) Hall of Canton, MA; Jane (Carlos) Ramon Hall of Bethel, CT; and Michelle (Michael) Herlihy of Shrewsbury, MA.

She is also survived by her sister, Alice Hynes Havey of Stamford, CT. Loving grandmother of twelve: Laura, Sherri, Eric, Larissa, Allie, David, Kyle, Elizabeth, John Carlos, Andrew, Shannon and William and great grandmother of four: Lloyd, Charlotte, Ryan, and Alma Jane as well as numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

Burial will follow at St. Mary Cemetery, Bethel, CT.

Source: Cornell Memorial Home from 5:00 – 7:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 A.M., Wednesday, May 31st, at St. Mary Church, Dodgingtown Rd, Bethel.
