JESSE N. AKINS
JESSE N. AKINS, 76, died early Wednesday morning in Bulloch Memorial Hospital after a brief illness.
Akins was a native of Bulloch County and had lived in Statesboro all of his life. He was a retired farmer and Tax Accessor. He was a member of the Primitive Baptist faith.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Iris K. Akins of Statesboro; one daughter, Mrs. Etta Anne Groover of Stilson; one son, Jappy Akins of Statesboro; one sister, Mrs. Arnold Anderson of Statesboro; five grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 4 p.m. from the chapel of Smith-Tillman Mortuary with burial in the Eastside Cemetery.
The body will remai in the chapel of Smith-Tillman Mortuary in Statesboro until the funeral hour.
