Obituary. Nancy Jean Bennett Wagstaff, 85 of Pocatello, Idaho, passed away on August 20, 2022, in Murrieta, California.
Nancy was born on May 25, 1937, in Pocatello, Idaho to Dwinna and Harold Bennett. She graduated from Pocatello High School in 1956 and explored some college courses. She had dreams of becoming a High School Home Economics teacher. However, her true calling to be a wife and mother took over in 1955 when she married James Burke Wagstaff.
Nancy was an amazing domestic engineer and moved around as her husband pursued his teaching and coaching career. She was an excellent cook, baker, and seamstress. She thrived on serving others. She raised three children and her husband to be contributing members of society. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She learned from her mother that "Happiness comes from unselfish service for others" and that is how she lived her life. Nancy had a very strong faith in God and was a devout member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in various positions in the church around the country. Nancy and Jim served an LDS mission at Brigham Young University- Idaho.
After Jim passed away, Nancy relocated to California to live with Geniel. During her 12 years there she was able to be present at all of her 8 great-grandchildren's births. This brought happiness to her, and she left a lasting impression on each of them.
She is survived by her children: Cary and Geniel; grandchildren: Nicole, Dylan, Ashlee, and Dallas; and eight great-grandchildren: Harper, Zayden, Lillian, Zoie, Joella, Austen, Brielle, and Beckett. She was proceeded in death by her parents, Dwinna and Harold; her siblings: Dwinna Mary, and Sally; and her son Jimmy.
Graveside Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 3, 2022, at the Falls View Cemetery, 2938 McKinley Rd. American Falls, Idaho under the direction of Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First Street, Idaho Falls.
