GEORGE J. BECKERMAN, 65, of Fountain died Jan. 5, 1993, at a local hospital. He was a ranch foreman for J.V. Ranches in Fountain for eight years.

A rosary service will be at 7 p.m. today at Holy Family Catholic Church, 331 Main St., Security. The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the church, with the Rev. Arthur Dresan officiating. Private burial is planned. Dove-Witt Family Mortuary, 6630 S. U.S. Highway 85/87, Fountain, is handling arrangements.

Mr. Beckerman was born April 23, 1927, in Fowler, Kan., to Robert H. and Anna (Willie) Beckerman.

He had lived in Fountain for 37 years. He was a charter member of the Fountain Riding and Roping Club and a member of Holy Family Catholic Church.

He was in the Navy from 1945 to 1946 and attained the rank of seaman first class.

Mr. Beckerman was married Aug. 23, 1955, in Fowler to Vaughn M. (Reed) Beckerman, who survives.

He also is survived by three sons, Dave of Winston-Salem, N.C., Dan of Peyton and Dale of Craig; two daughters, Georgia Beckerman-Thornton of Denver and Ann of Colorado Springs; three brothers, Leo, Leonard and Edwin, all of Kansas; four sisters, Mary Reinert and Jude, both of Kansas, Cecile of Oregon and Margaret Downing of Maryland; and four grandchildren.

He had a brother, Alvin, who is deceased.
